Zachary Flick, LMT or “Flick”, was born in Cedar Falls, IA and moved to Des Moines, IA after high school to study at The College of Massage & Healing Arts. After graduating and passing boards in 2003, he opened his private practice, Cloud 9 Massage Therapy, which now operates in Clive, IA. In 2013, Flick, formed Elite Mobile Massage, LLC which contracts small and large on-site chair massage events with corporate and institutional clients. He also served as Board Member and Membership Chair for the AMTA-Iowa Chapter and now as President.
Flick developed a blend of massage modalities, which he calls, Multi-Dimensional Release Technique, or MDRT, based on drawing from aspects of Thai, Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, yoga, trauma awareness, and founded in Myofascial Release. He’s evolved this during 23 years of practice with clients and refined it after five years of teaching this method to over a hundred students and counting.
Flick is also father to three children at 22, 15, & 8 years of age, as well as married to his partner, Olive, who reside with him in Des Moines. Flick and Olive created a program for teaching couples how to safely and effectively massage each other at home and have facilitated this workshop dozens of times in the past two years. They also offer soundbaths and host ecstatic dance events across Iowa.
When he has free time, Flick seeks out less-used trails, travels the world with Olive, dances and plays several instruments, and enjoys a good classic novel on a relaxed night.
It is this approach with which he won First Place in the Iowa category in 2025. He will demonstrate his personal knowledge and abilities in this class before you compete on Sunday. Taking this class could help with your flow and scores this weekend, but it will definitely impact the full length of your career to come!
